What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a woman at FM 2434 in Colorado County, TX on July 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. A Chevrolet Traverse operated by 33-year-old Kristen Boatman reportedly veered from the road at an intersection and into a ditch. It then went through a tree line and over railroad tracks, causing it to go airborne and overturn into a pair of unoccupied rail cars. Boatman suffered serious injuries. Responding officers believe Boatman showed signs of consuming alcohol.
