Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at TX 349 in Martin County, TX on August 5th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:45 p.m. A Chevrolet 3500 operated by 54-year-old Lance Leonard Mohler was headed southbound on TX 349 when it attempted to make a left hand turn. Investigators say the truck failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer before catching fire on impact. Mohler suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
