State Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at State Hwy 64 in Smith County, TX on September 21st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:57 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 59-year-old Phyllis Purvis was crossing State Hwy 64 in a middle turn lane when it was struck by a motorcycle operated by 31-year-old Lance Miller. The impact caused fatal injuries to Miller. Purvis suffered minor injuries. Police allege alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
