What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a woman at I-35 in Kyle, TX on August 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:40 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 51-year-old Dallas man was northbound on 35 in a middle lane when it made a change into the right lane. This caused a Honda Accord operated by 50-year-old Laura Evelia Torres, which was already in the lane, to strike the left side of the trailer. It became lodged under the trailer, being dragged along for over 2000 feet. Torres reportedly suffered minor injuries in the incident while the Dallas man was not injured. He was charged with Unsafe Lane Change.
