What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at TX 46 in New Braunfels, TX on August 21st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:42 a.m. A Harley-Davidson operated by 38-year-old James Strait was headed southbound on TX 46 when it collided with the side of a Chevrolet Malibu making a turn. Both Strait and his passenger, 35-year-old Lauren Haas, were both seriously injured. The Chevrolet driver was not injured. Investigators say alcohol allegedly played a factor in the collision.
