Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 79 in Milam County, TX on September 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:35 p.m. A Ford F-150 operated by 23-year-old Layne Alexander Watkins was headed westbound on US 79 when it veered from the road for unknown reasons. The truck attempted to correct back onto the road before losing control and overturning, crashing into a tree. Watching was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old passenger was hospitalized with minor injuries. Additional details were not available.
