What Happened

Harris County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that injured at least two people at State Hwy 99 in Harris County, TX on October 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:10 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Camaro was northbound as a Toyota Rav4 ahead allegedly attempted to perform a lane change ahead. Officials say the Camaro collided with the Toyota, rotating northbound and colliding with a Jeep Wrangler. The Toyota veered from the road in the impact and collided with multiple trees while the driver of the Chevrolet allegedly fled the scene on-foot before later being arrested on a Failure to Stop and Render Aid charge, reports say. Reports also indicate the driver of the Toyota, 20-year-old Isaac Nemes and a passenger had non-life-threatening injuries. A second passenger, 21-year-old Layni Doucet, was more seriously injured, police say. The Jeep operator also hat non-life-threatening injuries. Additional information was not available.
