What Happened

Authorizes are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 535 in Bastrop County, TX on August 24th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 3:51 a.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Tiguan headed eastbound on FM 535 is alleged to have struck a fence while navigating out of the end of a slight curve in the road. The vehicle is said to have next struck a gate and electric pole before striking a group of trees and making contact with a parked, unoccupied vehicle and nearby home. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Leslie Quintanilla, was seriously injured. A 25-year-old passenger, who was not publicly identified, suffered minor injuries, reports say.
