What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a crash that led to a fatality at TX 30 in Huntsville, TX on February 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:20 a.m. A Dodge Ram operated by 23-year-old James Lee Nash was headed northbound on Hwy 30 while a Kia Forte operated by a 38-year-old Huntsville man was headed north in a left turn lane for FM 2821. Police say the Dodge failed to control its speed and collided with the Kia before fleeing the scene. A passenger in the Kia, identified as 60-year-old Lester Walker, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The driver and a second passenger, 52-year-old Alisa Loll, suffered minor injuries. Nash, who was reportedly uninjured, was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter, according to reports.
