Edinburg Police are searching for a driver in connection with a hit-and-run collision at North Alamo Rd in Edinburg, TX on August 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:35 p.m. Two women, including 18-year-old Lorena Perez, who was eight months pregnant, were standing near a vehicle filling it with gas. A pickup truck headed southbound is said to have veered from the road and collided with both women before fleeing the scene. Perez and her unborn child were both killed in the collision. The other woman was hospitalized and later released. Additional information was not immediately available.
