What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at I-45 and TX 242 in Montgomery County, TX on December 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:15 p.m. According to investigators, an officer was performing a traffic stop prior to noticing a speeding motorcycle. The motorcycle is said to have exited the road before colliding with a Lexus exiting a parking lot, ejecting the cyclist into a nearby ditch. The motorcycle went into main traffic lanes and was struck by multiple vehicles. The driver of one the vehicles exited the vehicle following a collision and was struck by another vehicle. Both the cyclist, identified as 27-year-old Oliver James Shaw and other driver, 23-year-old Lucas Paul Wegener, suffered fatal injuries. Additional information was not available.
