What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 83 in Rio Grande City, TX on July 6th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:47 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 26-year-old Caldwell, ID man reportedly began to hydroplane, which caused it to lose control. It then veered from the road into opposite direction traffic into a Chevrolet Tahoe operated by Luis Guerrero and Ford F-150 operated by Olivia Guerrero. Luis suffered serious injuries while Olivia suffered less serious injuries.
