What Happened

Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 21 in Bastrop County, TX on September 11th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 6:05 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Highlander allegedly operated by a 13-year-old driver was headed eastbound on State Hwy 21 at the time. Reports say the vehicle is alleged to have veered from the roadway for unclear reasons before crossing into a no pass zone and striking a GMC C1500. Police say  the impact caused the vehicle to collide with a Honda Accord head-on, leaving 30-year-old Honda operator, Luis Martinez Chaverria, fatally injured. The GMC operator, age 22, allegedly had minor injuries.
