What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-10 in Jeff Davis County, TX on April 23rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:06 a.m. Authorities say a tractor-trailer operated by a 43-year-old Grand Prairie man was headed westbound on I-1o in a right lane while a second truck operated by a 33-year-old Katy man was parked in a neutral zone at the entrance of a rest area. The first truck is said to have failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of the second truck before continuing into a parked vehicle and barrow ditch. Only the Grand Prairie man was reportedly injured, suffering serious injuries. Reports indicate a charge of Failure to Control Speed was recommended and/or issued against him.
