Police say the incident happened around 4:31 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tundra operated by 23-year-old Dylan Briggs was headed eastbound in a construction zone, approaching construction road barriers. Officials say while approaching a turn-only lane, the vehicle veered through bushes and up an embankment before striking cement girders near a bridge. The impact is said to have caused the vehicle to flip over, leaving 25-a year-old passenger and Briggs with serious injuries. Authorities allege speed and alcohol played factors in the crash.
