Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian at US 80 and American Legion Blvd in Longview, TX on December 29th, 2023. Authorities are saying the incident happened around 7:29 p.m. According to police, a Chevrolet Malibu was headed eastbound on US 80 as a bicyclist was crossing from a nearby private drive. Reports allege the bicyclist a 36-year-old man who was not publicly identified, may have failed to yield before traveling into the path of the approaching vehicle. Police say the man was struck by the vehicle and suffered injuries said to be serious in nature. Officers allege possible alcohol involvement in the crash on the part of the driver of the Malibu.
