What Happened

Authorities are investigating an incident that killed one person involved at US 285 and Allison Crane Dr in Reeves County, TX on February 5th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 5:58 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was turning to travel southbound onto US 285 at the time. Police allege the truck failed to yield right of way, colliding with a northbound Ford F-250 in the process. The crash caused the Ford to travel underneath the tractor-trailer, the impact killing a 23-year-old Ford passenger. The 55-year-old Ford operator was seriously injured, reports say, while the tractor-trailer operator was allegedly uninjured. Reports indicate a Criminal Negligent Homicide charge was recommended and/or issued against the operator of the tractor-trailer.
