Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US Hwy 380 in Yoakum County, TX on December 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened as a vehicle operated by 40-year-old Manuel Rafael Ortega was headed westbound on US Hwy 380. Investigators say the roads were wet at the time and the vehicle lost control under unclear circumstances before overturning into a ditch. Ortega suffered fatal injuries in the crash. A passenger, identified as 37-year-old Jose Antonio Perez Ramirez, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials had no additional information to offer.
