What Happened

Brownsville Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at Honeydale in Brownsville, TX on April 15th, 2023. Police say the incident involved a Nissan 350 headed southbound behind a Dodge Charger. Officers say the Dodge attempted to pass the Nissan before they collided. Officers allege the Nissan was engaged in controlled drifting prior to the collision. The Nissan lost control in the collision, causing it to crash into a tree. A passenger, identified as Pablo Steven Zavala, was partially ejected from the car and hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver, Marco Antonio Presario, suffered fatal injuries. Officers allege alcoholic beverages were found in the Dodge. The driver of the Dodge, Adrian Erasmo Zapata, was arrested on intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
