What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at US 77 in Milam, TX on September 6th, 2022. Police say the incident involved a Dodge Ram 3500 headed northbound on US 77 when it was struck by a second Dodge Ram truck hauling a cattle trailer. The trailer veered through a ditch before colliding with another trailer while the truck veered across a center line into a southbound lane, colliding with a Chevrolet pickup truck and a Chevrolet Equinox. A passenger in the pickup truck, identified as 58-year-old Maria Reina Franco, suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Equinox, identified as 52-year-old Orfelinda Martinez, also suffered fatal injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
