What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at FM 51 in Wise County, TX on October 5th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:52 p.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Beetle operated by 57-year-old Kelley Rodenas was northbound on FM 51. Police allege the vehicle attempted to pass a Dodge Ram 2500 operated by 21-year-old Josiah Lloyd, colliding with the rear of the Dodge and the front of a Buick Encore operated by 72-year-old Marilyn Starke. The collision caused the Buick to overturn into a bar ditch, leaving Starke with fatal injuries. Her passenger, 57-year-old Donna Aldridge, was hospitalized in critical condition, sources say. Officials say Lloyd and passenger, 20-year-old Jon-Narc Lloyd, had non-life-threatening injuries. Sources say Rodenas was also injuries and addition information was not available.
