What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at Ben Jordan St in Victoria, TX on December 27th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:36 a.m. A Dodge Ram operated by 33-year-old Matthew James Cantu was headed north on Ben Jordan while a Ford Fusion operated by a 25-year-old Victoria woman was headed south ahead of a Ford F-150. Investigators say the Dodge veered from its lane and collided with the Fusion before it overturned and was struck by the F-150. Cantu, who is alleged to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision, was seriously injured. The other two drivers were reportedly uninjured. Records indicate a charge of Driving While Intoxicated was recommended and/or issued.
