Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Hwy 103 in San Augustine County, TX on August 29th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:32 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 55-year-old driver who was not publicly identified was westbound on Hwy 103 approaching the intersection with State Hwy 147. At the same time, a Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a 25-year-old driver, also not publicly identified, was headed eastbound on Hwy 103 attempting to merge north onto Hwy 147. Police allege the Chevrolet failed to yield before the vehicles collided, leaving the Tahoe operator with fatal injuries. The other driver was not injured, according to authorities.
