What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Eagle Dr in Mont Belvieu, TX on May 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened as a flatbed tractor-railer was headed northbound on Eagle Dr. They say the truck was in the process of performing a u-turn before becoming stuck, blocking both lanes of travel as a southbound Dodge Nitro approached. The Dodge struck the truck, killing a 13-year-old girl and her 40-year-old mother, Melba Garcia Castro, who was driving the Dodge.
