What Happened

Officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 1616 in Henderson County, TX on October 6th, 2024. Police are saying it happened around 12:24 p.m. According to investigators, an eastbound Ford Ranger is alleged to have crosse da center line into westbound lanes. There, the vehicle collided with a westbound Nissan Armada, the impact leaving 57-year-old Armada operator, Merri Kelly, fatally injured. Also killed was the 29-year-old operator of the Ford, who was not publicly identified, and two child passengers. Officials say alcohol was not suspected in the crash and did not have additional information to share.
