What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at State Hwy 19 in Rains County, TX on August 2nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10:29 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 47-year-old Little Rock, AR man was headed northbound on TX 19 approaching a Nissan Rogue operated by 62-year-old Michael Albert Beem.  The Nissan slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 1495 and as it did so, the truck veered left before colliding with the rear of the Nissan. The Nissan was pushed from the road where it overturned, leaving Beem with serious injuries. The other driver was not injured and charged with Failure to Control Speed.
