What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information pertaining to a collision that injured a driver at US 287 and Windthorst Rd in Wichita Falls, TX on June 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:37 p.m. A Ford F-350 operated by Michael Scott Dolan reportedly stopped after a box fell from a truck onto the roadway. The Ford stopped to avoid both the box and the pedestrian and owner of the box attempting to retrieve the box when it was rear-ended by a commercial truck operated by a 43-year-old Vernon, Tx man. That truck was then struck by a Dodge Ram operated by 41-year-old Dustin Michael Smith. Dolan suffered minor injuries in the collision. The other drivers were not injured. The pedestrian retrieved the box and left the scene before police arrived.
