Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 59 in Polk County, TX on October 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:25 a.m. A Toyota Avalon operated by 39-year-old Michael Tatum Jr is said to have been traveling northbound on US 59 when it veered from the road into a group of trees. Tatum reportedly suffered serious injuries in the collision and was hospitalized. Investigators allege that Tatum was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
