What Happened

Police are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at US 83 in Menard County, TX on September 17th, 2024. Officials say the incident happened around 10:16 p.m. According to investigators, a Kia Soul headed northbound on US 83 is alleged to have veered left, traveling the wrong direction on a one-way southbound road. The vehicle is said to have collided with a southbound Nissan Pathfinder before leaving the roadway and entering into a barrow ditch. Authorities say the driver of the Kia, who was not publicly identified, was fatally injured. The other driver, identified as 33-year-old Miguel Luque-Espinoza, was seriously injured, reports say.
