What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that killed one person involved at I-45 in Webster, TX on August 25th, 2024. Police are saying the incident happened around 10:48 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla previously involved in a hit-and-run and headed northbound is alleged to have veered out its lane for unclear reasons, entered into a closed toll lane. There, reports say the vehicle made contact with the mechanical arm closing the lane off, causing the vehicle to struck the insider barrier wall. The vehicle continued traveling before rolling and ejecting the driver from the vehicle. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Diego Quevedo, was fatally injured. His 19-year-0ld passenger, Minh Le, was seriously injured, reports say. Additional inforamtion was not available.
