Police say the incident happened around 1:09 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Journey operated by 40-year-old Monica Zamora was allegedly headed northbound on FM 507, nearing the FM 508 intersection. The vehicle is said to have missed a stop sign at the intersection before colliding with a Ford F-350, causing the Dodge to enter an embankment. Reports say the Dodge became submerged in a canal in the embankment while the Ford struck a nearby pole.
