What Happened

San Marcos Police have charged a driver in connection with a hit-and-run collision at MLK Dr in San Marcos, TX on September 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. 49-year-old Nelda Chancy Peddle was walking across a cross walk when she was struck by a vehicle operated by 39-year-old Armando Cubriel Jr. Police say witnesses allegedly saw Cubriel exit the vehicle after the collision the retrieve his vehicle's fallen bumper before getting back into the vehicle and leaving the scene. Peddle suffered fatal injuries. Cubriel was later located and arrested on charges including Intoxication Manslaughter, Resisting Arrest, Accident Involving Death, Tampering With Evidence and Obstruction Retaliation.
