Police say the incident happened around 9:50 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Sonata operated by 46-year-old Oscar Sierra was headed eastbound on I-2 when it veered from the road into a grassy median under unclear circumstances. The vehicle collided with a utility pole and spun before coming to a stop. The impact from the crash is said to have caused serious injuries and investigators expressed suspicion that alcohol was involved in the crash.
