What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at Galveston Rd in Houston, TX on December 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:58 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Fusion is accused of colliding with rear of a southbound Ford Ranger. The impact is said to have caused the Ranger to veer  from the road and overturn into a nearby ditch. The driver of the Ranger, identified as 84-year-old Ralph Matthews, was seriously injured, reports say. The other driver, who was not publicly identified, had allege minor injuries. Reports indicate officers expressed suspicion the Fusion operator may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
