Police say the incident happened around 9:17 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Explorer operated by 29-year-old Rene Ramirez is said to have been headed southbound on FM 794, approaching a curve in the roadway. The vehicle is said to have lost control at the curve, veering from the road into a ditch. The vehicle traveled a short distance before colliding with a tree.
