What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-20 in Odessa, TX on January 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:06 p.m. Investigators say that as a tractor-trailer operated by a 57-year-old male was slowing for traffic ahead, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 35-year-old Ricardo Garcia collided with the rear of the truck. The truck driver was not injured while Garcia suffered serious injuries. Reports indicate a charge for Failure to Control Speed to Avoid Accident was recommended and/or issued.
