Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at State Hwy 97 in Atascosa County, TX on October 30th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:47 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Camaro operated by 23-year-old Richard Garcia III was headed eastbound on Hwy 97 when it veered from its lane into a ditch. It struck fence and traveled through the fence before hitting a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and catch fire, trapping Garcia in the vehicle. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities had no additional information to share.
