Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 517 in Galveston County, TX on August 17th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:58 p.m. A GMC Sierra operated by 73-year-old Robert Fischer reportedly veered from a westbound lane of traffic in a construction zone into a Ford F-650. Both vehicles caught fire in the collision and Fisher suffered fatal injuries. The driver of a third vehicle, 21-year-old Alaina Dean was evaluated for possible injuries.
