What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that killed two people at FM 109 in Colorado County, TX on February 11th, 2025. Police say the incident happend around 11:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban traveling southbound was struck by a Ford F-250 crossing into its lane. Officials both vehicles collided head-on, the impact killing 29-year-old Chevrolet Suburban operator, Rylee Schobel, was fatally injured. Also killed was a 10-year-old child in the same vehicle, who died several days later, who an additional 7-year-old child was hospitalized with serious injuries. The other driver, identified as 42-year-old Bobby John Murphy, was also hospitalized with unconfirmed injuries. Additional information was not available.
