What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver involved at FM 62 in Polk County, TX on June 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:15 a.m. According to investigators, a Honda CR-V operated by 24-year-old Savannah Konarik was allegedly headed northeast on FM 62 before leaving the roadway for unclear reasons. Reports allege the vehicle traveled into a south barrow ditch, losing control while attempting to return to the road. The vehicle is said to have crossed into a north barrow ditch, overturning several times. Officials say Konarik was ejected from the vehicle as it overturned, suffering fatal injuries from the crash. There were no other reported injuries and authorities did not have additional information available.
