What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-45 in Harris County, TX on March 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:40 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-350 operated by 42-year-old Mathew David Tucker was headed southbound behind a Toyota C-HR operated by 55-year-old Jeffrey Scott Spurlock before another vehicle allegedly performed a lane change in front of the vehicles. This caused the Toyota to brake to avoid a collision, which caused the Ford to collide with the Toyota. A passenger in the Toyota, identified as 55-year-old Shannan Dean Spurlock, suffered serious injuries. The drivers were not injured and a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
