What Happened

Texas Officers have information on a crash that injured a motorcyclist at I-35E in Lewisville, TX on September 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:06 a.m. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 51-year-old Shawn Leaton Brightwell was headed northbound on I-35E when the bike lost control and crashed into a grassy divider. Investigators say that Brightwell was unable to recall the crash and that another vehicle had collided with the bike to cause the accident. Additionally, investigators say they were not able to determine a point of impact from where another vehicle would have struck the bike. Brightwell, who had serious injuries from the crash, was issued a Driving While Intoxicated charge.
