What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 3 in Friendswood, TX on October 15th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Elantra operated by 18-year-old Adrian Edgar Allen was headed southbound at the time. The vehicle was traveling behind a Maserati Quattroporte operated by 42-year-old Sheldon Lekeil Smith, which was slowing down as it approached a funeral procession. Officers allege the Hyundai failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of the Maserati. Officials believe Smith was seriously injured int he crash while Allen was not injured.
