What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed one person at Northwest Freeway in Harris County, TX on February 13th, 2024. Police say the incident happened as a Dodge Promaster allegedly performed a faulty evasive action in an effort to avoid striking an individual standing near a disabled vehicle The front portion of the vehicle is said to have struck the back portion of an attached trailer, causing a flatbed wrecker to strike the Dodge. It also collided with Simon Garcia, the wrecker operator. Garcia was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Authorities say there were no other reported injuries.
