What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash at State Hwy 144 in Granbury, TX on October 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 6:30 a.m. A Ford F-150 operated by a 34-year-old Grandbury man was heading southbound in a northbound lane when it collided with a Toyota Rav4 operated by 63-year-old Susan Higginbotham. The Rav4 overturned onto its roof and the Nissan Altima directly behind it collided with it. The Ford also struck a Jeep Renegade, however no one in the vehicle was injured. The Altima driver, 32-year-old Osmin Reyes, suffered minor injuries. Higginbotham was seriously injured while the Grandbury man was evaluated for possible injuries. Police charged him with Intoxication Assault with Vehicle, Accident Involving Damage, Unlawful Carrying Weapon and Possession of Controlled Substance.
