What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 175 in Kemp, TX on August 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:33 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 66-year-old Kaufman man was headed westbound at US Hwy 175 when it turned from a stop sign intersection into the path of a Chevrolet Malibu operated by 39-year-old Tavarus Dontashe Rider. After the collision the vehicle veered from the road into a median, causing Rider serious injuries. The truck driver was not injured and charged with Failure to Yield Right of Way.
