What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a teen at US 190 and FM 2457 in Polk County, TX on May 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 7:06 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by an unidentified teen was headed eastbound in a left lane of US 190 when it began to veer from the road. Police allege this was due to the teen falling asleep at the wheel. The truck veered from the road into a center barrow ditch, causing the teen serious injuries. Reports show a DUI charge was recommended and/or issued.
