What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured three people at Shepherd Ln and Summer Hill Dr in Balch Springs, TX on January 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:47 p.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Murano operated by a 35-year-old Dallas woman reportedly veered from the road into a ditch. Officers say the woman allegedly stated the vehicle was hit by another vehicle causing it to veer from the road but noted there did not appear to be damage to the vehicle to corroborate this version of events. A 5-year-old boy in the vehicle was seriously injured while an infant and the driver both suffered minor injuries. Records indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued.
