What Happened

Texas Highway Patrol officials are investigating a collision that killed three people at US 84 near Prairie Hill, TX on August 22nd, 2021. Police say it happened around 2:20 a.m. A Kia Optima headed westbound in eastbound lanes collided head-on with an eastbound Nissan Altima. The Altima caught fire, trapping the driver and passenger, who both died at the scene. The driver of the Kia, a 17-year-old female, also died at the scene. A passenger in the Kia was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
