What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at US 82 in Clay County, TX on January 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3 p.m. A Ford Freestyle operated by 59-year-old Charla Kay Ikner veered from the road into a center median before taking faulty evasive action getting back onto the road. It then collided with a commercial truck operated by 46-year-old Toby Lyn Thomas causing it to veered from the road into a ditch. Thomas suffered serious injuries. Ikner was not injured and was charged with Failure to Drive in Single Lane.
